Why we made this
A freestanding camping tent, the Apollo is easy to pitch and stable in bad weather — featuring a multiple air vent system, this tent accommodates two people.
-
Product Description
The Apollo is a free standing, two person tent that’s perfect for weekend camping, music festivals and introductory level hiking. The Swift-Pitch™ design makes for a simple and efficient set up — with a combination of pole sleeves and clips, simply pitch the inner first and then attach the fly over top — allowing you to camp fly-free on those warm, dry evenings. Dual side entry doors and vestibules enable easy access and gear storage, while the tub design of the waterproof Torrentwear™ XP floor removes the need for a separate footprint and effectively keeps water out of your tent. For the top, the factory seam sealed UV75™ PU fly sheet is waterproof and ready to go out of the bag, making this tent the ideal all-rounder for weekend adventures.

Robust, reliable and easy to erect
We used to utilise these tents in a youth program were they were treated pretty roughly by inexperienced hands. They handled both the abuse from the user and the harsh weather conditions extremley well. These tents are far easier to erect than other domes I have used. They provide both wet and dry space which is great, ideal for wet conditions.
After seeing these things taken though their paces I decided to purchase one myself. On one particular trip my brothers tent tore due to high winds, the apollo was able to be set up and held fast in the same conditions.
Been a robust tent I have no issues sending it away on school camps.
I would rather have the old style macpac pegs though(the aluminium triangle cross section ones) as these, are a bit soft.

A Long Relationship
I purchased a APOLLO tent 13 years ago and still today am using it with complete trust and confidence when tried against the elements from Tassie highland lakes to the rugged WA Kennedy Ranges.
Blasted by gales force winds on the Nullabor and soaking tropical rains on the Cape, never once let down.
I cannot compare this to others because I have never had to buy anyone elses or rlace this super product.
Re-sealed the stitching only once over that time and NO leaks ever.
Top quality

Great Tent
Another cheap tent I had bought ended with the poles fracturing & giving me splinters the water coming in and loosing its shape & the wind coming through & then left me sweating in the heat. I finally decided to buy the Apollo after viewing it in store. OMG I can't fault this tent. I got it up in gusty conditions here in Tasmania & I was so nicely surprised with how this tent was warmer even with the ventilation open slightly on a cold night and during the day it decided to get very hot & with the ventilation completely open I am very comfortable to lie in the tent and read. The best tent purchase I have ever made can't say enough good things. I will now recommend to anybody wanting tents & to head to the Macpac store

So good ... I've just ordered another one after 12 years
So glad Macpac still make this tent. My Apollo was the perfect comfortable home when I lived on-the-road travelling around Australia on a motorcycle for 8+ months .. plus numerous trips thereafter over the last 12 years. It has endured some very extreme conditions where I thought it was surely going to break, but it always survived, without issue. This tent is strong, light, compact and so fast and easy to set up and pack up, has plenty of ventilation for humid climates too, and enough room under the vestibles to keep all your gear out of the weather when you have to batten down and stay in during storms. Plenty of room inside for 1 person plus plenty of gear or 2 persons and some clothing, etc. I could go on forever about the virtues of this awesome product. The perfect tent IMO :) ... It is just starting to show a few minor signs of age and use after 12 years but is still in surprisingly good order. When I saw they were still available and also on sale (bonus!) I now can't wait to receive my replacement and to pass on my original to charity. Thanks for making such great quality products.

A brilliant little tent!
Had one of these for 2 years now and it has endured months of motorcycle touring, tropical storms, dust, cold etc. It is beautifully waterproof, roomy and extremely easy to set up and dismantle.
