Why we made this
The Atom is a light and warm hooded down jacket, effectively trapping heat in and keeping the cold out.
  • Product Description
The Atom down range is warm, light and versatile, filled with responsibly sourced 600 loft RDS duck down, independently certified by the Responsible Down Standard for the humane treatment of animals. Lightweight nylon outer fabric wraps around this fill and an internal mesh pocket allows you to stuff the down jacket into this pocket for easy packing — or to create a soft travel pillow. To help trap heat inside the jacket, elastic bound cuffs and a down filled hood have been included for maximum insulation. A full length front zip with top zipper garage allows adjustable ventilation, while the chest and hand pockets provide storage for small essentials and keep hands toasty warm. Available with a regular fit.

My son loves it. He previously owned the same jacket just a different colour. It doesn’t fit him anymore so I got him a new one for upgrade.

My kids LOVE these jackets!
Got one of each for my kids, upsized because they’re both tall. Great fit and the kids love them, super warm jackets all ready for winter.

Comfort for an autistic boy
My son is 7. He loves the lightness wrap around feel, warmth and colour. He like to wear black. Quality matters to me for my son, he makes him feel confident wearing his jacket and just totally handsome.

Fast delivery. Awesome jacket for my son. It is warm yet light weight. Looks stylish and can pack away into its own travel bag. Would definitely recommend this brand.

Worth every dollar.
This jacket is worth every dollar. I bought the Black Iris color, it's better looking in person haha. Very good QUALITY material, feels comfortable and definitely keeps my son warm.

Hi there. I don’t know what size to buy. My daughter is 4 turning 5. She’s quite short for her age. I’m thinking to buy size 6 but don’t know if it will be swimming on her. Is this jacket true to size?
Miniblkdg on Jan 22, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Yes it does appear to run true to size . My daughter is 91/2 and is tall for her age(normally wears 10-12) . I got a size 12, it is still a bit big , but room to grow . The jacket is quite warm. She lived it during the winter months . Kept her quite comfortable and warm.
Which one is the warmest? Stargazer, Asteroid or Atom

Macpac Asteroid Down Jacket - Kids'
BEST ANSWER: I think their all fairly similar. I bought the Asteroid for our son as it has fleece cuffs to stop the cold air getting into the sleeves. He's been warm enough in it at -5ºC with a thermal and thin fleece under it.
How cold is this jacket suitable for?
Katrina C on Oct 1, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hello Katrina,

This jacket has a fill power of 650 with a down fill weight of 450g (6YRS) - making this is a warm jacket (approximately 4 out of 5 (scale 1-5)). We cannot give an exact temperature that this will be suitable for. Keeping warm all comes down to your layering system - we recommend a base, middle and outer layer for keeping warm in cold conditions.

December is a cold month in Scandinavia, and depends on where you will be going. In Denmark it rarely gets lower than -7 degrees - when it is really cold. But Norway, Sweden and Finland can get as low as -25 degrees.

Will light rain water run off the jacket?
Mazzz on Jul 6, 2019
BEST ANSWER: It won’t bead & run off, but the jacket doesn’t get sodden/wet straight away either.... misty rain is fine....
Which jacket is warmer - the Pulsa Alpha PrimaLoft OR the Atom Hooded Down Jacket? Is only the PrimaLoft waterproof?

Macpac Pulsar Alpha PrimaLoft® Hoody - Kids'
Macpac Pulsar Alpha PrimaLoft® Hoody - Kids'
BEST ANSWER: Hello Marita,

Both jackets are pretty similar in terms of warmth ratio. And both jackets are water resistant. The Pulsar jacket might have an advantage in wet weather as it is made from Primaloft - Synthetic insulation is perfect for keeping warm, because it retains its insulating properties even when wet — unlike traditional down which often clumps when wet.
