What kind of cold weather do you wear this in 15c-20c or colder? 10c or 15c days?
BEST ANSWER: If I'm walking the dogs, I wear the Uber light jacket on 10-15c days. If there's a windchill factor then I may wear it walking on warmer days that are really 10-15 with the wind chill taken into account.
But I also wear it on 15-20c days to sit outside having a coffee etc. It's also very comfortable to wear when driving. Like a warm jumper that will block the wind. Hope that helps.

Does it come with a hood?
BEST ANSWER: No. This uber light does not have a hood. It is very small and compact but still warm. Great jacket. I have this in two colours plus the long uber jacket. I love them.
Some designs come with or without a hood but it is clear in the description if there is a hood.

Hi I have the Halo down women’s jacket in 14 and fits perfect would I be a size 14 in the light jacket or should I go a size to a 16?
BEST ANSWER: Hi Karen,
The Halo does fit larger than most of our jackets, so would recommend going up a size in the Uber Jacket.
Thanks,
The Macpac Team

Would this be warm enough for NZ alpine huts & tramping in summer months? Maybe under windproof jacket? I’m in the subtropics & it’s hard to judge these things!
BEST ANSWER: Hi Viv
Yes this would be a suitable option for Summer months in New Zealand, especially when layered with a base and mid layer. Adding a windproof layer would also increase the warmth of this jacket.
The Uber Light range is designed to be functional and stylish in colder conditions.
This jacket is a great alternative for a sweatshirt or as an extra layer that will provide you with plenty of warmth without being bulky.
Thanks

How long is it for a short person 5 ft?
BEST ANSWER: I purchased this jacket in size 16, and I am 5 ft 9. It fits comfortably at my hip. I imagine the jacket for your height would fit below your hip, and over your bottom.

Which jacket is warmer - the Uber Light or Halo?

Macpac Uber Light Down Jacket — Women's

BEST ANSWER: I have both and would say the Halo is warmer. It is thicker and much bigger when packed away, almost the size of a small sleeping bag. The uber light can fit in a decent size handbag so it is super convenient and it is also very warm.

Difference between the light and the halo?
BEST ANSWER: Hello Sara,
The Light jacket has a fill weight of 65 g of 650 loft duck down, compared to the Halo which has a fill weight of 155 g of 600 loft Duck down.
Meaning that the Light jacket is an ultra light weight and warm mid layer jacket. The Halo jacket is bigger (filled with more down) and is a good all year round jacket.
Kind regards,
Macpac Team

How long is a size 12? Does it fit down to the thigh or only to the hip?
BEST ANSWER: Hi Teena,
These are designed to fit just over the hip, but not down to thigh level. If you are wanting a longer version, we do the Uber Light Coat, https://www.macpac.com.au/womens/jackets-vests/down-insulated-jackets/macpac-uber-light-hooded-down-coat-%E2%80%94-womens/114262.html#q=Uber%2Bcoat&lang=en_AU&start=1

What temperature is the Uber light jacket suited to? I’m looking for something to wear walking on cold winter days.
BEST ANSWER: Hello Lauren, really hard question to answer. This is our lightest down jacket, so therefore not the warmest. Depends on temperature and what you are wearing underneath. As a rough rule of thumb, I would say under 10 degrees you may want to look at the Halo or something with more down. Thanks the Macpac Team

I am size 12 upper and size14 around hips/ bottom. Some jackets that fit on top are tight around hips . Does this jacket have some flexibility allowance around the hips in a size 12 as I fear size 14 arms and top will be too large? Thanks.
BEST ANSWER: There’s no real flexibility in the bottom they’re very straight up and down. But one size up top actually won’t make a huge difference because it’s so straight. My sister is bigger in the hips and went up a size and hers still looks lovely, also don’t forget it will give you more room to wear a jumper under as well. Best of luck

Is the down harvested responsibly?
BEST ANSWER: Hello Sue - thanks for the question.
Yes all Macpac down garments are RDS (responsible down standard) Certified. Animal welfare is important to us so we have gone out of our way to ensure we only use down which is a by-product of the meat industry. None of our down is live-plucked. Our suppliers source down from all over the world to achieve the desired fill power. The most common sources are Europe and China. We can also confirm that every batch of down is tested by the IDFL (International Down and Feather Testing Laboratory) and comes with a detailed report about its quality.
Thanks the Macpac team
