Why we made this
Warm and light, the Mercury Hooded Down Jacket features responsibly-sourced duck down and bluesign® approved fabrics.
  • Product Description
The Mercury Hooded Down Jacket is a warm insulation layer that’s perfect for urban wear and travel. Made from a lightweight nylon fabric — complete with bluesign® certification — and filled with 650 loft RDS duck down, this jacket is constructed to provide warmth throughout your upper body, arms and head. Like all our other down products, we've chosen to use Responsible Down Standard (RDS) certified duck down because we support the ethical sourcing of down and feathers. To aid heat retention, we've added a soft elastic binding to the cuffs, hood and hem, effectively helping to trap heat against your body. The jacket has two zipped hand pockets and the regular fit means you can add additional layers underneath or throw a hard shell on over the top. A small stuff sack is included for easy packing.

Reali warm .Love the tea colour. Love the elastic cuff and waist band. Don't like the fit.
Ive jus purchased this jacket in a size large online. I have another Macpac down jacket that ive had for 7 years and still goin great but needed sumthing for jus cruiseing round in and less bulky.
I've found the new jacket is short in the arms and tight under the arms yet good in length to the waist jus like my old
Macpac down jacket.I am 92kg 5.9..
I wear a thremo under the new jacket but it makes the jacket more uncomfortable and tighter under the arm pits yet I'm needing a base layer.Definitely couldn't wear any more layers.
Ive tried XL but but is way to big for me in all areas.
Id recommend lengthening in the arms slightly plus adding sum more room under the arms.In a stretch this jacket is reali uncomfortable.
It be cool if there was a clip to attach the carry bag too then u could put the bag in inside pocket. Both inside pockets have large holes so the bag is definitely going fall out.

I’m really enjoying my Mercury Hooded Down Jacket. It is my first ever puffer jacket, and it is amazing, it’s light, definitely warm, I’m sure this will be my “go to” jacket this winter.

Hi, what colour is the India Ink - navy or grey?

I am after a “thin” down jacket, one that isn’t large and bulky as I still want to do activities in it and not feel like the Michelin Man. Any suggestions?
Jimbo on Apr 6, 2020

We understand your concern and would say the Mercury Jacket could be a great option!

Other jackets you might be keen to check out are the Macpac UberLight Down or the Macpac Astral Hybrid jackets.

I am about 6ft3 and 13 stone. I wear a large jacket for Katmandu but would you recommend medium for Macpac? I've heard they are a bit bigger.
Jonny on Jul 10, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Hi Jonny, I would recommend a Large, I’m 6’0 and 90kg and use a Large. I find that even though the medium might be ok in arm length and waste length, it would be too tight under the arms.

Hope that helps.

Yes the hood has down filling as well. We cannot say exactly what temperatures you can use the in. It is a warm jacket, but warmth always depends on your layering system.

Does it even help in rainy season??
Kiran on Apr 6, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Hello Kiran,

Well it depends on where you are going. The jacket is water resistant but not waterproof. It will handle light rain, but that's it.

does it have a water repellent finish to help protect against moisture like the ubers lightweight nylon outer fabric?
Steve M on Jun 6, 2020

Thank you for your question.

This fabric does have a water repellent finish on it so will protect against minimal showers like the Uber.

Thanks - the Macpac Team
What is the difference between the Uber and the Mercury jackets? Thanks
Ricky C on Apr 6, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Hello Ricky,

The main difference is that the Mercury is a lot warmer. It holds 390g vs. 240 (uber ligth) down in comparison.

Kind regards,
The Macpac Team

5'10 what size would fit me best S or M?
