fell apart/ wet out
Jacket literally fell apart and wetted out within a year. the waterproof stitching fell off even though the washing instructions were followed.
sent off for warranty, made felt like it was my fault and wouldn't replace unless I had a receipt, which I didn't (my fault but just wanted a swap, not money back)

Great jacket
A great medium to light weight jacket that provides excellent protection from the wind and rain. Have worn it all last winter both tramping and a bit of light running. No leaks in pretty heavy rain. Pockets and hood are both very practical and well designed. Now my jacket of choice. So much so that I am getting another one to leave in the jeep. Well done Macpac.

Good value lightweight jacket
Big fan of this jacket. It hasn’t leaked after 6 months of use. The hood is great for vision even when zipped right up. Arm length is spot on. Chest pocket, below pockets with hand warmer pockets beneath are much used and appreciated. Weighs very little for these features. Two areas that could be improved- arms are quite narrow and gets restrictive - I’m a hunter and so glassing with Binos for extended periods gets tiring when your jacket is binding down on your arm when bent at the elbow, particularly with a layer of clothing beneath. Other issue is the neck area could have a bit more room when zipped right up. Again when you have a layer of clothing beneath, things are getting a bit tight. A size up would have turned the rest of the jacket into a tent! Otherwise a great jacket and good value.

Wanted a waterproof jacket but didn't want to go for a hardcore, top end jacket. This has been an excellent jacket, kept me dry, good length, plenty of pockets and has plenty of little adjustments you can make to suit your fit and purpose.

When wearing does the inner lining soak up sweat i.e.. cotton or is it nylon and it gets wet and feels uncomfortable?
Janet H on May 8, 2020

The inner is the same as the outer, it is a Reltx Nylon, a highly breathing membrane.
The Copland meets the minimum requirements of hiking in NZ - 10,000 mm/hh waterproof and 10.000 gr/m2/24hr breathability Therefore, it will not get soak wet from the inside. It will stay strong and dry.

Kind Regards,
The Macpac Team!
Does this jacket have the stamina to be worn and worn under a heavy back pack?
Thomas P on Apr 14, 2020
BEST ANSWER: I would say so. My backpsck wasnt that heavy 7kg but no problem. Very sturdy jacket.
