Macpac Nemesis Softshell Pants — Men's
Why we made this
Technical hiking pants in a winter-weight softshell fabric for increased warmth and protection in colder climates.
Made from a thicker softshell fabric, the Nemesis softshell Pants were designed for comfort and weather protection while hiking in the mountains or working in cold, exposed conditions. As a technical hiking layer, they have articulated patterning through the knees and enough elastane fibre to enable free movement — crucial when navigating rough terrain or simply climbing a ladder. Providing basic weather resistance with a short-chain DWR C6 fabric finish, these pants are breathable and abrasion resistant for increased comfort and durability in harsh environments. They have a removable webbing belt, zipped hand pockets and a zipped thigh pocket.

Quality Pants, very comfortable and stylish.
A lot of thought has gone into design of these pants. The stretch fabric has a quality look and feel, and is so comfortable. Pockets are all hidden so if you like the minimalist look these are the go.

A few weeks ago, I bought Glacier softshell pants. Are these the same? The Glacier ones are disappointing compared to the Glacier pants I bought from the former Mac pack store. The new ones seem thinner and colder, and they have an elastic drawcord instead instead of a lower leg zip, compared to the older ones. Also the fitting seems a bit looser even though I bought the same size.
BEST ANSWER: Hello Keith, In the 12 years I have been here I haven't seen a pair of pants called Glacier pants sorry. The Fitzroy pants are our warmest most technical softshell pant option. Nemesis would need layering with. I recommend the prothermals for layering. Thanks Jeremy @ Macpac
I used to have a pair of Macpac polartec windproof pants 10 years ago. They were awesome for trekking and I took them to cold places like the mountains in Peru and Patagonia. I cannot remember the name, but which model would recommend these days? - it does not need to be waterproof. Thank you.
BEST ANSWER: Hello Ernesto - These are the ones! These soft shells are windproof and highly water resistant. Thanks the Macpac Team
Gidday guys ... looking to replace my Macpac 'Mission' softshell pants used mostly for teaching cross country and telemark skiing in Australia. Is Nemisis the go or am I looking at Fitzroy?
