Why we made this
Designed for weight-conscious climbers, this down jacket is engineered for an exceptional warmth-to-weight ratio and improved moisture management.
  • Product Description
Designed for weight-conscious climbers, this innovative down jacket is engineered for an exceptional warmth-to-weight ratio and improved moisture management. The ultralight Pertex® Quantum outer shell with a DWR fabric finish is soft and light, allowing insulation to fully loft within. For the insulation, two types have been combined: water-resistant HyperDRY™ RDS goose down and PrimaLoft® Gold synthetic insulation with Cross-Core Technology™. HyperDRY™ goose down is through the body, arms and hood of the jacket, and then in moisture prone areas (chin, shoulder and cuff panels), PrimaLoft® Gold synthetic insulation with Cross-Core Technology™ has been used to maximise thermal efficiency when climbing in snowy, damp conditions. Cross-Core Technology™ features silica aerogel, a highly porous, low-density structure that forms a temperature barrier, effectively providing the same warmth at less weight. Fusing this technology with premium Primaloft® Gold synthetic insulation and then pairing it with technical, water-resistant HyperDRY™ RDS goose down, we’ve created a high performance insulation piece that achieves a previously unattainable level of lightweight warmth. Warm, light and compact
I ummed and ahhed about whether to get the Icefall or an Uberlight due to the price difference (220 on sale versus 99). Definitely worth the extra money. I have been living in it since I got it and it still smells like new because of the water resistant down, as well as synthetic filling in moisture prone areas. It is also very light and easy to pack down, which I really appreciate. The Mandarin/Pearl is also surprisingly versatile, a luminescent orange that surprisingly matches more of my wardrobe than the black or other orange jackets I've seen. The fabric did catch on a bush although it seems to be okay, it's something I'm conscious of given other review regarding its fragility. Definitely a 5/5.

Great down jacket
I haven't worn it yet but it feels good on. Warm! but it is summer and a bit hot for down jackets in Queensland at the moment. Hood is good and looks like it will stay in place with the adjust cord. Sleeves are long but the elastic wrist band makes this ok. It feels extremely light on & doesn't russle so I can sneak up on bears maybe?? The orange colour is a happy colour. If I ever get lost in the wild someone will be sure to see me!!
I think I love this jacket! Look out adventure, here I come!

Warm, Bright & Compact
Just used this jacket to hike to Everest Base Camp in December. This jacket is soft and warms quickly. Hiking in -15C in a snow storm, I wore this jacket with 2 x Macpac merino thermals and a thin rain jacket over top. It kept me warm with minimal bulk.

Disappointingly, after about 3 weeks of daily use, the jacket did spring 2 holes (in the back and a pocket) and started to leak down. Probably not recommended, but I've sewn some funky patches over them to solve this problem. I kind of think for $275, it did the job required and maybe you can’t expect much more.

Greatest feature (apart from the colour - the brightness of the orange lessens with weeks of wear taking on character and starts to look even better), is the volume is packs down to. Others in our group had good jackets too, (but cheaper), and they were quite bulky. I could pack mine down easily into a small outer pocket of my back-pack. This makes a big difference when you're strapped for space when trekking.

Light weight and warm
Yes. Love the bright happy colour. So light and so warm. More expensive than other jackets with Macpac but worth the extra without a doubt.

Light and very warm
I wore this for a very very cold trek to the Himalayas. It kept me warm at night in -15 degrees This jacket takes only a few minutes to trap body heat and then lets you soak in its warmth for as long as you wear it. On lighter days, you can wear it over a light top and on colder days it can be the top coat over many layers. Versatile. Perfect for travellers.

BEST ANSWER: I am tallish and thin. I needed long arms, so the medium was good. But I do feel that the rest of the jacket was a little large. Overall, I love the jacket, light, warm, and I feel that i got it at a good price.
Does anyone know the back length of this jacket...or approx where does a women’s size medium come down to.tia?
