I call this my “super coat”!
I absolutely love this coat and rave on to everyone about it. It’s warm, wind proof and most of all waterproof, so I never worry about the down portion getting wet when I get caught out in the rain. I’m short, so it comes to my knees which is probably another reason why it’s so warm. Secretly I’m hoping that the really cold weather stays just so that I can wear it and be cosy. It’s my “super coat”!!!

The ultimate jacket !
Could this be the best jacket I have ever owned? I am obsessed with jackets , I have at least 8 ski jackets , I recently had a cupboard built just to accommodate my 50 or more jackets ! I have a few insulated duck/goose down jackets but my problem with these is that they’re not fully waterproof, neither were most of my ski jackets . I wore this to watch netball on the weekend in the rain, now, I am a person who normally freezes when everyone else is warm , this jacket actually made me too warm! It was fantastic. It also kept me bone dry in the rain . As I got back into the car I swept the rain drops off it and it was pretty much dry . The fabric on the outer jacket is amazing and soft , it doesn’t look like water proof fabric at all and has a small herringbone self pattered design on it . Other insulated water proof jackets I own are stiff and noisy and uncomfortable. I love that you can cinch in the waist to give it shape . When you zip it up, it has a facing that covers the zip and small hidden magnets inside that just snap together automatically to conceal the zip . I bought the black and it looks like a semi-dressy coat . The inner insulated layer is a very, very dark navy . This is a well thought out jacket , the only thing I felt was missing was an internal pocket like you find in ski jackets , but that’s me being picky . I’m normally a 10 in clothing but I sized up to a 12 so I could add layers to wear in winter in Japan and Europe and be comfortable in the shoulders . I’m a shorty at 160cm and the jacket comes a bit above my knees which I like . I love how you can wear the jackets separately for when it’s raining but not very cold ,or when it’s sunny and cold, or together when it’s cold and windy as it really blocks the wind . I’m in love and obsessed with the jacket , I think I have finally found the ultimate jacket!

great coat but need a size 6
This coat is super warm and great all rounder as it has the warmth of in insulated down jacket but without looking to causal. I have the size 8 and it is a tad too big. all my other Macpac jackets are a 6 and fit perfectly.

Awesome versatile jacket
Great jacket. I’ve worn it with just the raincoat part and also the puffer jacket in its own.. Very versatile. Has draw strings round the waist (it’s on the raincoat part) so can make it more fitting and flattering to the body. Great buy. I’m very happy.

Almost perfect!
I love this jacket. Keeps you warm and dry when worn both separately and together. I only wish the down coat had a hood for those windy days.

Excellent Jacket
I had researched similar jackets and found this was the best and ticked all the boxes and it hasn't disappointed me. Walking the dog in the pouring rain in 8 degrees temperature and being dry and cosy warm, fantastic.

Wonder why is there different in fabric used between the men and women in Macpac Element 3in1 jacket? Does the women jacket as waterproof as it claim without having the 'Pertex® Shield fabric, the shell is fully seam sealed and features a breathable membrane, providing a 15,000 mm hydrostatic head rating' used in the men's version? I am looking for dressy winter raincoat for extreme weather conditions.

BEST ANSWER: I can’t help you with the technical specs but I have found the coat to be highly waterproof and breathable, and super warm! After owning it for 6 months I have great confidence in my coat in any weather. I wear it to work and regularly get complimented on what a lovely coat it is.
Hello with the black jacket what colour is the puffer jacket under neath? In the photos it looks navy?
Rachael W on Jun 4, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hi. Mine is black iris. The outer layer is navy and the puffer light grey.
I originally tried the black and am pretty sure the inner and outer layers are both black.
Jacket looks fabulous - just what I have been looking for - does it come in a size 20?
H D on Jul 27, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hello - size 18 is the biggest sorry. But we would suggest trying on in-store if you can - an 18 might be just right. Thanks, the Macpac Team
Would this jacket be suitable for minus 20 Celcius?
TwoSeats on May 14, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I think it would be, with suitable thermal layering underneath. It’s the best coat I’ve ever owned, and really versatile with the different options. Our coldest temp in alpine Vic is -10 and I think this jacket would be more than sufficient for that temp over normal clothing. If it was going to be colder I’d layer thermals underneath.
Brilliant jacket.
What is the temperature rating for this jacket? What is it said to be able to stand to?
Claire H on Jul 28, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hello Claire, sorry there is no current standard for measuring warmth ratings for Jackets (like there is for sleeping bags). The jacket is very warm, but depends on 3 things:
* body warmth - some people run hotter than others
* Layers warn underneath (ie cotton / polyprop / merino)
* Weather conditions (ie snow / ice / cold wind)

We hope this helps explain. Thanks, the Macpac Team
Does this coat come in size 6?
