Product Description
Light and durable, the Traverse is a waterproof jacket designed for all outdoor pursuits. With lightweight Pertex® Shield Pro on the main body, hood and sleeves and a mid-weight version of the same fabric on the shoulders and lower cuffs, this jacket is body mapped for greater durability in areas of wear while carrying a pack hiking. These fabrics feature air-permeable membranes to be waterproof and provide an increased level of breathability, so your body can breathe during high intensity activity. With a DWR finish, zip-away hood and water resistant YKK AquaGuard® zips, this jacket is ready for wet weather. Please note that the YKK AquaGuard® zips are not waterproof.

To get the best performance out of your waterproof garment frequent washing and drying is recommended
Before washing ensure all zippers and closures are secure
Warm machine wash on gentle cycle using pure soap or Nikwax Tech Wash®
Do not bleach or use fabric softeners
Cool tumble dry. This is very important to rejuvenate the DWR finish
Do not dry clean
Apply a DWR restorer, such as Nikwax TX. Direct® to help prolong the life of your garment
A frequently washed garment is a well performing one

Excellent jacket
I am very happy with this ! My size is 8 but took size 10 because in winter time will wear another jacket ( fleece, down etc ) under the rain jacket.
Very comfortable, soft and light.
Good water proof when the jacket wet, surface is 10min later already dry.
I would recommend this jacket.

Is this jacket warmer than the down jacket?
BEST ANSWER: Hi Ros - they serve a different purpose so its very difficult to compare the Traverse jacket with a down jacket. Down jackets are very warm. The Traverse is a waterproof garment but has no thermal insulation. The Traverse will give you some warmth as it stops wind and keeps you reasonably dry. It will help keep some body warmth against your skin but it definitely won't provide the insulation and warmth that a down jacket will. But if your down jacket gets wet it losses most of its insulation properties. You can get down jackets with a water-resistant outer shell. In very cold and damp conditions outdoors you would probably wear something like a Traverse rain jacket over your down jacket to help stop the wind chill and rain but give you the warm of down.
