Why we made this
An ultralight merino baselayer providing natural thermoregulation and odour resistance — this long sleeve crew is ideal for low intensity outdoor activities.
  • Product Description
A soft, ultralight merino baselayer, this long sleeve crew is made from 100% merino wool for everyday comfort. Providing natural softness, temperature regulation and odour resistance, merino wool is one of nature’s finest fibres. Working to keep you cool in the heat and warm when it’s cold, merino wool is highly breathable — absorbing moisture vapour before allowing it to evaporate into the air — so you stay comfortable for longer. Grown on the backs of merino sheep, merino wool is a naturally renewable and biodegradable fibre.

Very Comfortable
Wore the top on an 11km overnight hike last weekend, just over 500m descent going in. Temperature ranged from 6 degrees to 12 degrees. Light wind required a lightweight fleece pullover on the way in, just wore the top on the way out. During times of direct sun and no wind I did get hot, but the smallest breeze made life very pleasant.
So impressed I bought the matching boxers which arrived today!

The best!
These are by far the best merino tops I've purchased. They are lightweight (perfect for 3 seasons in Sydney), comfortable and fit perfectly. They hold up really well to washing and don't stretch, fade or become baggy. I've bought two and looking to buy another!

Super comfy
First base layer I've worn from macpac - smooth merino, good construction and my favourite winter base! Bought this last year and great to pull this out for again! Top effort macpac!

The sleeve length and torso length are perfect. Very comfortable. I really like these tops. They wash well without pilling and don’t fade. I would prefer if the seams were normal instead of the flatlock look and that way i could wear it “off the mountain” aswell.

It’s fine. A good buy.
It’s fine. Wool could be finer or silkier. But it’s just fine.

where are these garments made?
john s on May 17, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Hi John,

Designed in NZ manufacture in China

Kind Regards,
The Macpac Team!
Hi,
How tight a fit should the tops me?
Jason B on Oct 27, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I wear the same size in these as I do in a t-shirt (fitted not baggy). The tops fit closely without being lycra tight which I think is ideal. This works well under other layers and is comfortable. The fabric has some stretch and didn't shrink much after the first wash.
