Product Description
Active insulation at it's most versatile, the Pisa Polartec® Hooded Jacket utilises advanced fabric technology to directly warm your skin while maintaining a high level of breathability and managing moisture build up. Lined with Polartec® Alpha® Direct synthetic insulation featuring 78% recycled polyester content, the Pisa is a core product of our Alpine Series — our premium technical collection designed in partnership with the New Zealand Alpine Team (NZAT). Originally designed for the U.S. Special Forces and now helping to keep mountaineers and alpine adventurers warm and comfortable in harsh environments, Polartec® Alpha® Direct minimises weight by sitting directly against your skin and removing the need for a drop liner. Effectively regulating your body temperature during low and high intensity activity, Alpha® Direct offers superior breathability and dries fast. Wrapped in a bluesign® approved nylon ripstop fabric with a short-chain DWR C6 finish for improved moisture repellency, the Pisa is lightweight and packable — tucking into it's own pocket for lighter climbing or hiking. Bluesign® certification confirms these specific fabrics have been manufactured with responsible use of resources and the lowest possible impact on people and the environment.

Is this jacket waterproof?
BEST ANSWER: Water resistant, not waterproof so you might want to have a waterproof shell on top of it if you're in an environment where there's heavy rain. But in saying that, I've worn it many times in light rain and it maintains it's warmth pretty well unless u get really soaked. It's also fairly quick drying if it gets wet. Overall great and versatile jacket for everyday use.

What is the difference with this jacket vs the grey version?
BEST ANSWER: Hi Ben,
The current colour is the only grey option in this jacket. Possibly the colour description has caused some confusion.
Thanks,
The Macpac Team

Are the sleeves fully lined all the way to the cuffs with the polartec alpha material? And what are the pocket linings made of? Thanks.

Is the Pisa men’s size XS similar to women’s size 8? I have 2 of these jackets already but I prefer the men’s colors
BEST ANSWER: Hi Donna,
The Chest and Waist measurements would be fine, but think the Hip measurement might fit slightly tight as the shape of Men's clothing is different to Women's.
Thanks, The Macpac Team

Hi. Can this be used for snow sports too?
BEST ANSWER: Hi Caren,
Thank you for your question.
This would be a great layering piece for snow sports as it has good breathability and warmth retention. We would recommend wearing under a shell layer.
Thanks - the Macpac Team

How does the sizing compare with this jacket to others? I’m a medium in the Sabre vest but a small in the Macpac down jackets.
BEST ANSWER: Hello,
The Pisa Jkt is a similar body width to the Uber light down Jkt M, which would mean the small would be the best fit.
Thanks, the Macpac Team.

BEST ANSWER: Hello Zurvaan,
I have this jacket myself and it is really warm. If you have a layer or so underneath you should be fine - it's a really warm jacket, considering warmth to weight ratio.
Kind regards,
The Macpac team
