Macpac Prothermal Polartec® Long Johns — Women's
Why we made this
A technical baselayer made from Polartec® Power Grid™, the Prothermal Long John was designed in partnership with the New Zealand Alpine Team for performance efficiency — providing advanced warmth and breathability, while also reducing fabric mass.
Designed in partnership with the New Zealand Alpine Team, the Prothermal Polartec® Long John is one of our highest performing baselayers. Ideal for climbers and weight-conscious hikers, the Prothermal range is made out of Polartec® Power Grid™ fleece fabric for superior breathability, lightweight warmth and reduced fabric mass for improved compressibility. A minimalist design that maximises fabric performance, the internal grid pattern wicks moisture away from your body during high intensity activity, helping to keep you comfortable for longer. Made with 25% post-consumer recycled content, Polartec® Power Grid™ is bluesign® approved, meaning this fabric has been manufactured with responsible use of resources and the lowest possible impact on people and the environment. Supported by Polygiene® odour control technology, the Prothermal range is intended for multi-day use.

Great wicking and warmth
Wore these in minus 10 & minus 15 skiing in Canada and loved them! Light weight. Wick well. Warm well. Only drawback (minor) is that they would, given they are designed by skiers for skiers, benefit from a 7/8 length so they don't interfere with ski boots. Will be buying another pair this season.
