Expect Years of Good Service from a Trangia
The go to hike stove that is fuelled by metholated spirits, with no dangerous gas to carry around. Mine was bought for hiking in Tasmania and New Zealand in the 1980s and is still going strong. The one negative is the handle is so easy to burn yourself with, if you leave it on the pot whilst cooking. It may now be possible to purchase a silicon sleeve for the handle from kitchenware shops to avoid the inevitable burns. If using mine for car rather than hiking trips I use a Tefal handle instead of the Trangia one, but too heavy to include for hiking. Otherwise it cooks reliably, is fuel efficient and packs down to provide an almost all in one cooking set, if you use the pan as your plate and the saucepan as your bowl to eat from!
