Care
You are best to clean your pack with a natural, non-detergent soap and a soft-bristled brush
Suitable soap types are: pure soap, vegetable soap and Nikwax® Tech Wash®
Rinse the pack well and dry it in a well-ventilated area out of direct sunlight
Do not put your pack in the washing machine as this will void your warranty
Always try to keep the zip teeth clean — wash with fresh, clean water and lubricate with a silicon lubricant suitable for use on fabrics
Do not tumble dry, iron or dryclean

My last Macpac was a Cascade. Anyone care to weigh in on the pros and cons of Cascade vs. Torlesse? Both 65LT and I'd definitely be getting the Aztec version ... so what's the advantage of going Torlesse over the classic Cascade?

Macpac Cascade 65L AzTec® Hiking Pack

BEST ANSWER: Hi Mark,
Depends on your preference.
Biggest differences are the front opening (like a travel type pack) on the Torlesse that will give you greater ease of access at camp. Whereas the Cascade is a traditional top loading style (can be easier to cram stuff in).
The Cascade is designed to handle heavier loads than the Torlesse..
Cascade has more Canvas over the pack shell than Torlesse so tends to be more hardwearing over time. The Torlesse is more of a hybrid using 630D cordura on the sides etc.
Thanks,
The Macpac Team

Does the cascade have an opening for a water pack tube to come through?
Also the Aztec says it's waterproof, is it advisable to still put a rain cover or should the pack handle any weather?

BEST ANSWER: Hi Fadi,
There isnt a gap in the back of the pack for the tube, but you there is one from the main compartment, through the top divider and can then put the tube through the side, between the lib and main compartment.
The Aztec material is only water resistant, so a rain cover is recommended if using in the rain.
Thanks,
