Macpac Torlesse 50L Pack
Why we made this
Designed and tested in New Zealand, the Torlesse is hard wearing and hard working — whatever your adventure.
We’ve been designing packs for the world’s toughest outdoor conditions since 1973 — our Torlesse range was designed to satisfy the need for fully featured, general purpose hiking packs that suit New Zealand 'tramping' conditions. A canvas alternative, the Torlesse range features a combination of Cordura® and nylon ripstop fabrics for back country durability in changeable weather. Designed and tested in New Zealand, these packs are comfortable with an adjustable AirFlo™ Flexi-Fit™ harness and supportive hip belt. Optimised for freedom of movement and comfort, this harness features anatomically-shaped shoulder straps and generous mesh padding through the back panels. A traditional top-loading pack with a large main compartment (with an internal base compartment divider and external zips), the Torlesse comes in a variety of sizes and capacities to suit your body and your adventure. This 50 litre pack — with a built-in rain cover — is perfect for overnight hiking and travelling light off the beaten track.

Great pack for a few days
This is a well-designed and made pack suitable for anything from day trips with a lot of gear to several days for light packers, or summer trips. Besides the good volume of the pack with its compartments and lid and outside pouches, there are two rather large side pockets - and the rain cover still fits over the pack with these side pockets full.

These packs are robust and comfortable and don’t drive you crazy with interminable creaking common to a well known US backpack.

This pack is the perfect size for over-night or for a few days, especially for experienced hikers who prefer less weight or minimal gear. Its rain cover keeps the rain off, and is easy to negotiate when needing to get into the pack again.

Where does the water bladder go and it states it has a hydration exit port which I cannot find?
BEST ANSWER: Hi Stacey, the water bladder goes at the back and the hydration exit port is at the very back in the middle at the top. There should be an exit port under the bag material around where it says "Airflo Flexi-Fit”. It is just a small horizontal hole which you can put the hose through. Thanks, Macpac Team.
